Some may ask why this is happening, is it run off from land precipitation over a long period of time, most likely not since the water evaporates from the ocean and gets redeposited here on land. Ice shelfs, glaciers, and other forms of ice have been falling into the ocean over the past thousands of years, and precipitation has been redeposited back on arctic land. The oceans have been rising over the past thousands of years and will not stop tomorrow, some glaciers receed while some proceed or grow. Ice shelfs melt and fall into oceans and water is redeposited on land. Ice melts into the ocean and the ocean level rise. This is a normal cycle that has been happening for thousands of years and will not stop with the end of "Global Warming" the question now should ask, are we contributing to the average rise in level? That all depends on this discussion. If we are causing Global Warming and those greenhouse gases travel to the poles, melting the snow, then the answer is yes. But do we know yet if Global Warming is all man-made, that has yet to be determined.
