HOTTEST EARTH IN 400 - 2000 YEARS:
Global Warming is based on models and data that shows that the earth is hotter than any other time in 400, possibly 2000 years. There would be problems with this theory, since they have only been recording the temperature for the past 50+ years. With new techniques and technology, they can read changes in the climate from different natural sources. There is more research being done each year and fairly accurate temperature readings coming from core cuts of ice in Antarctica and other glacial areas around the world and rings in longlife trees. |

The winter of 2008 shows a great deal of cooling throughout the world. The world has seen record cooling anywhere from 6 years to over 100 years. This seems to show that the world could also be cooling. This can not be substantiated until this summer when those temperatures come in.
In addition the average temperature increase has actually been found to be decreasing and has been since 1998, except for the year 2006 when it hit an record high for the average temperature, which has begun to decrease, since that year, by drastic means. The year 2008 could also be a record low year do to the inconsistant temperature change. Check out Hottest Earth Recorded listing to see the recorded average of each year and where they stand in the last 100 years.
Could these things be a fluke. Well considering the trend is spiralling downward and 2006 was singled out as the only increase in temperature since 1998 maybe 2006 would have been the fluke. The fact that it was a record year gives other concerns of how it became the hottest year in the last 100 years.

“A panel convened by the U.S National Research Council, the nation's premier science policy body, in June 2006 voiced a "high level of confidence" that Earth is the hottest it has been in at least 400 years, and possibly even the last 2,000 years.” |

STANFORD - Global temperatures have increased an average of 0.5 to 1.0 degrees Fahrenheit.

“Studies indicate that the average global surface temperature has increased by approximately 0.5-1.0°F (0.3-0.6°C) over the last century. This is the largest increase in surface temperature in the last 1,000 years and scientists are predicting an even greater increase over this century. Average global temperatures may increase by 1.4-5.8ºC (that's 2.5 - 10.4º F) by the end of the 21st century.” |

NASA - Global temperatures have increased at an average of 1.08 to 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit.
(CONFLICT) |
Far from being some future fear, global warming is happening now, and scientists have evidence that humans are to blame. For decades, cars and factories have spewed billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and these gases caused temperatures to rise between 0.6°C and 0.9°C (1.08°F to 1.62°F) over the past century. The rate of warming in the last 50 years was double the rate observed over the last 100 years. Temperatures are certain to go up further. |
