WHY WEATHER STATION PLACEMENT IS SO IMPORTANT?:
Global Warming is partially based off readings from weather stations placed all around the earth. There has been questions about the placement of these stations. It is true that these stations can not be in shade, around concrete or asphault, near buildings or other walls, or other materials that reflect rays from the sun. These weather stations are very important to gathering these readings, for they gather data that gives us the information that is so important to keeping our environment safe..

As you can see below there are surprisingly a good amount of weather stations that improperly positioned and this could cause problems in the data. If you look at the hundreds monitored by NOAA, these are probably less than 1% of the weather stations out there and do not distort the measurements taken by a noticable amount. Even a small deviation would cost a good amount of false information and should be repositioned as soon as possible. Climate modeling is not an exact science, it is more or theories and what if statements and small amounts of false information could damage the research produced from this data.

“Studies indicate that the average global surface temperature has increased by approximately 0.5-1.0°F (0.3-0.6°C) over the last century. This is the largest increase in surface temperature in the last 1,000 years and scientists are predicting an even greater increase over this century. Average global temperatures may increase by 1.4-5.8ºC (that's 2.5 - 10.4º F) by the end of the 21st century.”

As a result of his shocking initial findings that temperature monitoring stations were constructed and placed without regard to achieving accurate recordings of natural temperatures, Anthony Watts set out to investigate the facilities used by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

What he found were temperature stations with sensors on the roofs of buildings, near air-conditioning exhaust vents, in parking lots near hot automobiles, barbecues, chimneys and on pavement and concrete surfaces -- all of which would lead to higher temperature recordings than properly established conditions.

University of Arizona Climate Station

This site's location is very poorly set. The asphault of the parting lot and heat from different hot surfaces will raise the temperature recorded by this station by a great deal. Thankfully this station may have been moved since told that the location of this site was unappropriate..
